To correctly observe the grounding state of a tire on a wet road surface.SOLUTION: A tire grounding state observation device for observing the grounding state of a tire rolling on a rolling surface formed with a water film comprises: a prism which has the rolling surface, an incidence surface on which the light is incident, and an emission surface which emits the light; a collimate light source which emits the parallel light to the incidence surface; a camera which receives the light emitted from the emission surface to output an image; and an image processing device which processes the image output by the camera. The image processing device discriminates among a first region where the tire contacts the rolling surface, a second region where the water contacts the rolling surface and a third region where the air contacts the rolling surface in the image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】水に濡れた路面におけるタイヤの接地状態を正確に観測する。【解決手段】タイヤ接地状態観測装置は、水膜が形成された転動面上を転動するタイヤの接地状態を観測するためのタイヤ接地状態観測装置であって、前記転動面と、光が入射する入射面と、光が出射する出射面とを有するプリズムと、前記入射面に対して平行光を照射するコリメート光源と、前記出射面から出射する光を受け、画像を出力するカメラと、前記カメラによって出力される前記画像を処理する画像処理装置と、を備え、前記画像処理装置は、前記画像において、前記タイヤが前記転動面に接触する第1領域と、水が前記転動面に接触する第2領域と、空気が前記転動面に接触する第3領域とを判別する。【選択図】図1
