To locate a cargo compartment of an object on a side close to a user in delivery or pickup of a cargo.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device controls operation relating to collection and delivery of a cargo by a vehicle 50 that can be bidirectionally advanced. The vehicle 50 is intended for a configuration to have a first side cargo compartment on a first side face side (left side) and a second side cargo compartment on an opposite second side surface side (right side) and includes a processing unit 11 for instructing travel of the vehicle. The processing unit 11 outputs an instruction for reversing a traveling direction of the vehicle 50 to a vehicle controller 511 for controlling travel of the vehicle 50 when a side of a side surface on which a cargo compartment is located in which a cargo to be delivered or collected is stored relative to a travel direction to which the vehicle 50 travels to an object user point designated by the user that requests delivery or collection of the cargo and a side relative to the travel direction of the vehicle of the object user point do not coincide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
