To improve combustion stability in a lean operation region in a simple structure by increasing temperature of air-fuel mixture at starting compression in the lean operation region.SOLUTION: An intake temperature control device for an engine includes a first radiator 61 in which cooling liquid is distributed for cooling an engine body 10, and a second air intake part 142 for taking air passing through the first radiator 61 as fresh air into an intake passage 40. When the operating condition of the engine body 10 is in the lean operation region, the intake temperature control device increases the temperature of the cooling liquid to be distributed in the first radiator 61 and reduces the flow amount of the air passing through the first radiator 61 further than when the operating condition of the engine body 10 is in a rich operation region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】簡単な構成で、リーン運転領域における圧縮開始時の混合気の温度を高くして、リーン運転領域での燃焼安定性を向上させる。【解決手段】エンジン本体10を冷却するための冷却液が流通する第1ラジエータ61と、第1ラジエータ61を通過した空気を新気として吸気通路40に取り込む第2空気取入部142とを備え、エンジン本体10の運転状態がリーン運転領域であるときには、エンジン本体10の運転状態がリッチ運転領域であるときと比較して、第1ラジエータ61に流通させる冷却液の温度を高くするとともに、第1ラジエータ61を通過する空気の流量を減少させる。【選択図】図6
