The structure index value is calculated by adding a vertical image element of the structure and a horizontal image element thereof. In a case where a total value of structure index values of a road area is larger than a structure index value threshold, the operation support ECU 10 sets a brake activation threshold θth at a first activation threshold θth1 (S27), while in a case where the total value is equal to or smaller than the structure index value threshold, the operation support ECU sets the brake activation threshold θth at a second activation threshold θth2 (>θth1) (S28).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
