To provide a saddle-riding type electric vehicle capable of reducing work burdens required for attaching/detaching a battery, and ensuring the flexibility of layout of a component or a device.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle 1 has a first storage space N1 which is formed under a seat 6, and in which a first battery 50A is disposed. The first battery 50A can be attached to/detached from the first storage space N1 in a right-and-left direction or a slanging right-and-left direction of a vehicle body. The size D1 of the first battery 50A in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle body is smaller than the size D2 of the first battery 50A in a vertical direction of the vehicle body, and is smaller than the size D3 of the first battery 50A in the right-and-left direction of the vehicle body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
