To provide a hybrid-vehicular drive apparatus capable of using a high-rotation type first rotary electric machine while securing torque necessary for starting an engine.SOLUTION: A hybrid-vehicular drive apparatus includes: an engine; a first rotary electric machine; a planetary gear mechanism including a first rotary element connected to the engine, a second rotary element connected to the first rotary electric machine, and a third rotary element connected to a stationary member; and a second rotary electric machine that is connected to a drive shaft and operated with power generated by the first rotary electric machine. Further, the apparatus includes a high-low switching mechanism that is disposed between the engine and first rotary element for changing a speed of revolution of the engine and transmitting it to the first rotary element, and is set at a high-side shift ratio when starting the engine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
