To provide an occupant recognition device which improves accuracy in determining whether an occupant is present or absent.SOLUTION: An occupant recognition device includes: a first acquisition part; a first determination part; a second acquisition part; and a second determination part. The first acquisition part acquires an image of the inside of a cabin that is imaged by an imaging device. The first determination part determines whether or not an object exists that possibly hides an occupant, on the basis of the image acquired by the first acquisition part. The second acquisition part acquires a detection value of a sensor that detects the object on a seat in the cabin. If the first determination part determines that the object exists that possibly hides the occupant, the second determination part determines whether or not the occupant is hidden in the object possibly hiding the occupant, on the basis of a secular change of the detection value acquired by the second acquisition part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】乗員の有無の判定精度を向上させることのできる乗員認識装置を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態にかかる乗員認識装置は、第1取得部と、第1判定部と、第2取得部と、第2判定部とを備える。第1取得部は、撮像装置によって撮像された車室内の画像を取得する。第1判定部は、第1取得部によって取得された画像に基づき、乗員が隠れている可能性がある物体が存在するか否かを判定する。第2取得部は、車室内における座席上の物体を検出するセンサの検出値を取得する。第2判定部は、第1判定部によって乗員が隠れている可能性がある物体が存在すると判定された場合に、第2取得部によって取得された検出値の経時変化に基づき、乗員が隠れている可能性がある物体に乗員が隠れているか否かを判定する。【選択図】図3
