To provide a battery-type industrial vehicle which is capable of easy taking in/out and keeping insertion of the battery.SOLUTION: A reach-type forklift 11 has a vehicle body plug 54, fixed with the plug setting piece 53 of the vehicle body 12, and a battery plug 35, connected to the battery. Also, the reach-type forklift 11 has retaining holes 53b arranged on the plug setting piece 53 and battery holes 37 on the battery plug 35 which are formed to overlap with corresponding retaining holes 53b when the battery plug engages with the vehicle body plug 54. The reach-type forklift 11 consists of multiple retaining pins 62 which go through overlapping battery holes 37 and retaining holes 53b, a retaining member 61 with a holding part 63 which keeps multiple pins 62 remaining in the holes, and a backing panel 43 which controls falling out of the pins 62 from the retaining holes 53b and the battery holes 37.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
