To select a suitable travel route for advanced autonomous vehicle.SOLUTION: Provided is a route selection method executed by an advanced autonomous vehicle (HAV) that provides an autonomous drive function, the method including the steps of: generating a plurality of route candidates with regard to a prescribed trip; acquiring, for each of the routes, external data that represents one or more external causes that could obstruct the autonomous drive function when travelling a route included in the plurality of route candidates; determining a first value that indicates a suitable level of automatization in the trip on the basis of information relating to the driver of the HAV; determining, for each of the route candidates, a second value that indicates the feasible level of automatization on the basis of the external data; and selecting a route from among the route candidates on the basis of the first value and a plurality of second values.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
