To provide a balancer cylinder capable of surely stopping at a neighbor position of a stroke terminal in lowering of a cylinder tube, and being made into a lock state at the stop position, and a workpiece conveyor using the balancer cylinder.SOLUTION: A balancer cylinder 10 is attached to a workpiece conveyor having a pressure fluid supply source so that an axial direction is along a vertical direction. At a neighbor position of a stroke terminal in lowering of a cylinder tube 22, a rod cover 20 contacts with a movable valve 30, and when an engagement position of a ratchet 38 for positioning is moved from a first locking groove 28c to a second locking groove 28d, a second flow passage 28b communicating between the pressure fluid supply source and a first cylinder chamber is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】シリンダチューブの下降時におけるストローク終端の近傍位置で確実に停止し、その停止位置でロック状態にできるバランサシリンダおよびバランサシリンダを用いたワーク搬送装置を提供する。【解決手段】圧力流体供給源を有するワーク搬送装置に対して軸方向が鉛直方向に沿うように取り付けられたバランサシリンダ10であって、シリンダチューブ22の下降時におけるストローク終端の近傍位置において、ロッドカバー20が移動弁30に当接し、位置決め用ラチェット38の係合位置を第1係止溝28cから第2係止溝28dへ移動させたとき圧力流体供給源と第1シリンダ室とを連通する第2流路28bが閉塞される。【選択図】図3
