To provide a balancer and a balancer system which can reduce a change rate of tension, while being suppressed from enlarging in size.SOLUTION: A balancer according to the present invention comprises: an actuator that adjusts tension of a wire rod; a tension sensor provided between the wire rod and the actuator, which detects tension of the wire rod; and a driving control part that controls the actuator on the basis of the tension of the wire rod detected by the tension sensor. The driving control part detects abrasion of the wire rod, on the basis of a time during which a signal transmitted to the other paired balancer is transmitted through the wire rod.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
