To provide a steering device which can have a driven pulley and a ball screw nut arranged axially with precision while securing smooth operation of a ball screw mechanism, and a method of manufacturing the steering device.SOLUTION: A driven pulley 44 is arranged axially at an outer periphery of a rack shaft 12, and fitted through an alignment structure 48 rotatably together with a ball screw nut 51 in one body. The alignment structure 48 comprises a plurality of lock grooves 61 formed on an inner peripheral surface of the driven pulley 44, a plurality of installation grooves 62 formed on an outer peripheral surface of the ball screw nut 51 to face the respective lock grooves 61 in radial directions, and an elastic member 63. The elastic member 63 has a pair of base parts 63a, 63b and a spring part 63c provided integrally between the base parts 63a, 63b, which are installed at the installation grooves 62 while leaving gaps with peripheral side faces 62b, 62c, and a spring part 63c is arranged between the installation groove 62 and the lock groove 61 while locked to inner surfaces 61a, 61b of the lock groove 61 to be compressed radially.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】ボール螺子機構の円滑な作動を確保しつつ、従動プーリとボール螺子ナットとを精度良く同軸上に配置できるステアリング装置及びステアリング装置の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】従動プーリ44はラック軸12の外周に同軸配置され、調芯構造48を介してボール螺子ナット51と一体回転可能に嵌合される。調芯構造48は、従動プーリ44の内周面に形成された複数の係止溝61と、ボール螺子ナット51の外周面に形成されて各係止溝61と径方向に対向する複数の設置溝62と、弾性部材63とを備える。弾性部材63は、一対の基部63a,63b及び基部63a,63b間に一体的に設けられたバネ部63cを有し、基部63a,63bが周方向側面62b,62cとの間に隙間を空けて設置溝62に設置されるとともに、バネ部63cが係止溝61の内面61a,61bに係止して径方向に圧縮された状態で設置溝62と係止溝61との間に配置される。【選択図】図3
