To provide a novel steering device which can shorten an arrangement space length in an axial direction when assembling an impact buffer member and a bush.SOLUTION: A steering device comprises a cushioning member body part 60 and a cushioning part 61 on a cushioning member 55. The cushioning member body part 60 is so attached as to be overlapped on an outer peripheral surface of a cushioning member holding part 59 of a bush 54, and the cushioning part 61 projects more than the cushioning member holding part 59 of the bush 54 toward an end of a rack bar body part 5A from the cushioning member body part 60. When a ball joint moves in a longer direction of the rack bar body part 5A, the ball joint and the cushioning part 61 contact each other. Since attachment areas of the bush and the cushioning member are overlapped on each other in an axial direction, shortening of an axial dimension can be achieved when the bush and the cushioning member are assembled to a rack housing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】衝撃緩衝部材とブッシュを組み付けた時の軸方向の配置空間の長さを短縮することができる新規なステアリング装置を提供する。【解決手段】緩衝部材55に緩衝部材本体部60と緩衝部61を備え、緩衝部材本体部60がブッシュ54の緩衝部材保持部59の外周面に重なって取り付けられ、更に緩衝部61が緩衝部材本体部60からラックバー本体部5Aの端部に向かってブッシュ54の緩衝部材保持部59よりも突出し、ボールジョイントがラックバー本体部5Aの長手方向に移動するときボールジョイントと緩衝部61とが当接する構成とした。ブッシュと緩衝部材の取り付け領域が軸方向に互いに重なるので、ブッシュと緩衝部材がラックハウジングに組み付けられたときの軸方向寸法の短縮化を図ることができる。【選択図】図4
