To provide a structure capable of firmly holding the position of a steering wheel in a state where the vertical position or the longitudinal position of the steering wheel is at an adjusted position.SOLUTION: Front and rear side engaging surfaces 43 and 46 are provided to the front side edge and the rear side edge of a tilt adjusting long hole 15b of the other support plate 22b constituting a support bracket 14a. A pair of movable side engaging surfaces 52a and 52b is provided to a guide projected part 51 of a driven side cam 28a. In a locked state, the front and rear side engaging surfaces 43 and 46 and the pair of movable side engaging surfaces 52a and 52b are engaged with each other by friction. On the other hand, in an unlocked state, the friction-engagement between the front and rear side engaging surfaces 43 and 46 and the pair of movable side engaging surfaces 52a and 52b is released.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】ステアリングホイールの上下位置又は前後位置を調節後の位置に保持可能な状態に於いて、このステアリングホイールの位置を強固に保持できる構造を実現する。【解決手段】支持ブラケット14aを構成する他方の支持板部22bのチルト調節用長孔15bの前側縁及び後側縁に前方、後方固定側係合面43、46を設ける。被駆動側カム28aのガイド凸部51に1対の可動側係合面52a、52bを設ける。そして、ロック状態に於いて、前記前方、後方固定側係合面43、46と前記1対の可動側係合面52a、52bとを摩擦係合させる。一方、アンロック状態で、前記前方、後方固定側係合面43、46と前記1対の可動側係合面52a、52bとの摩擦係合を解除する。【選択図】図4
