PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce limitations on a dimension of a speed reducer which are made based on an outer diameter of a wheel.SOLUTION: A speed reducer 30 reduces a speed of rotation of a motor, outputs the rotation to a wheel 40, and includes: a case 33 fixed to a vehicle body 10; an input part into which the rotation is input from the motor; an output part which outputs the rotation to the wheel 40; and a speed reduction mechanism which is at least partially housed in the case 33, reduces a speed of the rotation of the input part, and transmits the rotation to the output part. A maximum outer radius Rmax of the case 33 with its center set to a rotation axis Ax of the output part is larger than a radius Rw of the wheel 40. A minimum outer radius Rmin of the case 33 with its center set to the rotation axis Ax of the output part is smaller than a radius Rw of the wheel 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
