PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder device for a rear wheel brake of a motor cycle, which prevents a reservoir tank integrated type master cylinder from biting foreign matter, and to provide a master cylinder arrangement method for a rear wheel brake of a motor cycle.SOLUTION: A master cylinder device for a rear wheel brake of a motor cycle comprises: a master cylinder 35 that emits brake oil by a piston pushed by depression of a brake pedal 47; and a reservoir tank formed integrally with a cylinder body 35a of the master cylinder 35. An outline edge 60 on a rear wheel 26 side, up to the vertically upper end of the reservoir tank continuing from the vertically lower end α of the cylinder body 35a as viewed from a vehicle side, is formed straight in a rearward, obliquely upward direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
