PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be able to make a motor and a gear larger than a motor and a gear produced by a conventional technique, in view of the circumstance that in an in-wheel motor in which a motor housing and a gear housing incorporated with a motor and a gear respectively are assembled into a wheel hub with bolts arranged along peripheral edge parts of the housings, design in which exclusive spaces surrounding bolt fastening regions do not interfere with chassis components is required and increase in size of the motor and the gear is suppressed.SOLUTION: A motor housing and a gear housing are fixed to a hub housing, through peripheral edge parts of the housings, by fusion-jointing means such as FSW and welding, and bolts are arranged at positions other than positions which may interfere with chassis components within a range permitted under fastening force by the fusion-jointing means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
