PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripping state detection sensor capable of detecting in detail a gripping state of a driver with respect to a gripped part.SOLUTION: A gripping state detection sensor 1 comprises a proximity sensor part 2 and a load sensor part 3. The load sensor part 3 comprises: a second substrate 30 having insulation properties and extending in a first direction; a plurality of second direction electrodes y1-y8 disposed on one side of the second substrate 30 in a front-back direction, having conductivity, arranged side by side in the first direction, and extending in a second direction via a second direction center line L2; and a pair of first direction electrodes x1, x2 disposed on the other side of the second substrate 30 in the front-back direction, having conductivity, arranged side by side in the second direction across the second direction center line L2, and extending in the first direction. As viewed from the front side or the back side, a plurality of overlapping parts α are disposed between the plurality of second direction electrodes y1-y8 and the pair of first direction electrodes x1, x2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
