PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripping state detection device that can detect a gripping state of a steering wheel highly accurately irrespective of a gripping position by a driver.SOLUTION: In a gripping state detection device, a touch sensor 42 detects a contact state of a driver with respect to a steering wheel 28 and a torque sensor 46 detects steering torque Tr. The gripping state detection device detects a gripping state of the steering wheel 28 by a driver based on detection results of the touch sensor 42 and the torque sensor 46.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
