PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack shaft support device capable of suppressing an occurrence of rattle noise, and reducing the friction between a pinion shaft and a rack shaft regardless of which position in an axial direction of the rack shaft a pinion tooth engages with.SOLUTION: A rack shaft support device 1 includes a rack shaft 4 having rack teeth 40 aligned in an axial direction X, and a rack guide 25 for pressing the rack shaft 4 against pinion teeth 60 that can engage with the rack teeth 40. The rack shaft support device 1 includes adjusting means 30 for adjusting pressing force F of the rack guide 25 with respect to the rack shaft 4 according to which position in an axial direction X of the rack shaft 4 the pinion tooth 60 engages with.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
