PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tightly retain a first fitting member in a coupling cylinder part without causing cracking of the coupling cylinder part when a metallic bracket is bent.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a vibration isolator comprises: a main body part forming step of forming a main body part 10 which has a bracket 11 comprising a metallic coupling cylinder part 15, a cylindrical first fitting member 12 to be inserted into the coupling cylinder part 15 and retained therein, a second fitting part 13, and an elastic body 14 coupling the first fitting member 12 and the second fitting member 13 together, the first fitting member 12 and the second fitting member 13 being coupled together by the elastic body 14; and a retaining step of retaining the first fitting member 12 in the coupling cylinder part 15 by radially inwardly bending and deforming a plurality of edge-like projections 15, which are arranged peripherally at intervals at an axial opening end edge 15b of the coupling cylinder part 15 and project axially, with the first fitting member 12 of the main body part 10 inserted into the coupling cylinder part 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
