PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect an object without an influence of lighting of a lighting device.SOLUTION: In an image display system, an image acquisition unit 21 acquires a photographic image captured by a camera which periodically captures images around a vehicle including an area where a lighting device provided on the vehicle lights. A smoothing processing unit 42 of a lighting correction unit 4 derives lighting component data P3 which indicates an influence of lighting of the lighting device in the photographic image, on the basis of a plurality of temporally successive photographic images. A lighting difference unit 43 of the lighting correction unit 4 generates a lighting correction image P4 obtained by removing the influence of lighting from the photographic image by using the lighting component data P3. An object detection unit 5 detects an object around the vehicle by using the lighting correction image P4. 【課題】照明装置の照明の影響を受けずに高精度に物体を検出する。【解決手段】画像表示システムにおいては、画像取得部21が車両に設けられる照明装置が照明する領域を含む車両の周辺を周期的に撮影するカメラで得られた撮影画像を取得する。照明補正部4の平滑化部42は、時間的に連続する複数の撮影画像に基づいて、撮影画像において照明装置の照明の影響を表す照明成分データP3を導出する。照明補正部4の照明差分部43は、照明成分データP3を用いて、撮影画像から照明の影響を除去した照明補正画像P4を生成する。そして、物体検出部5は、照明補正画像P4を用いて車両の周辺の物体を検出する。したがって、照明装置の照明の影響を受けずに高精度に物体を検出することができる。【選択図】図9
