PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a failure to be determined without providing a vehicle with two atmospheric pressure sensors and to suppress an increase in costs when the atmospheric pressure sensor 103 is mounted to the vehicle.SOLUTION: A failure determination device for an atmospheric pressure sensor of a vehicle comprises a switching valve 6 capable of switching a position of a vacuum pump 5 between a first position where the vacuum pump 5 is connected to a negative pressure chamber 26 of a brake booster 2 via a negative pressure supply passage 15 and a second position where the vacuum pump 5 is connected to an atmospheric pressure sensor 103 via a negative pressure introduction passage 16. An atmosphere open hole 17a is opened so as to face the negative pressure introduction passage 16 with a cross sectional area smaller than a minimum passage cross sectional area thereof. The failure determination device therefor activates the vacuum pump 5 when predetermined conditions are met, causes the switching valve 6 to switch the position of the vacuum pump 5 to the second position and introduces a negative pressure to the atmospheric pressure sensor 103, and determines a failure based on output of the atmospheric pressure sensor 103.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両に大気圧センサ103を装備する場合に、それを2つ設けずに故障が判定できるようにして、コストの増大を抑制する。【解決手段】バキュームポンプ5を、負圧供給通路15を介してブレーキブースタ2の負圧室26に接続する第1の位置と、負圧導入通路16を介して大気圧センサ103に接続する第2の位置と、に切り替えられる切替バルブ6を備える。負圧導入通路16に臨んで、その最小の通路断面積よりも断面積の小さな大気開放孔17aが開口している。所定の条件が成立したときにバキュームポンプ5を動作させ、切替バルブ6を第2の位置に切り替えて大気圧センサ103に負圧を導入し、この大気圧センサ103の出力に基づいて故障を判定する。【選択図】図1
