PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trolley wire having small wire curling, and a method for manufacturing the trolley wire.SOLUTION: A trolley wire wound on a drum comprises: a slide contact part which is brought into slide contact with a current collecting device; plural suspension grooves in which a component, which suspends the trolley wire, is fitted; and a step part for wear detection in which widths at prescribed positions between the slide contact part and the suspension grooves are differed. When a straight line connecting the suspension grooves is represented by a straight line α, a perpendicular line, which is orthogonal to a face parallel to a cylindrical surface of the drum and intersects said straight line α, is represented by a perpendicular line β, an intersection angle of the straight line α and the perpendicular line β is 10° or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
