PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train state estimation device capable of improving the accuracy of state estimation necessary for re-adhesion control and safety speed control.SOLUTION: A self train state estimation device 2 is configured in such a manner that a state variable used for estimating the state of each axle of a train at each axle state prediction part 12, each axle state likelihood evaluation part 13, and each axle state estimation part 14 is a state variable or an observation value used for estimating the state of the entire train at a train state prediction part 15, a train state likelihood evaluation part 16, and a train state estimation part 17, and the state variable used for estimating the state of the entire train at the train state prediction part, the train state likelihood evaluation part, and the train state estimation part is a state variable or an observation value used for estimating the state of each axle at the axle state prediction part, the axle state likelihood evaluation part, and the axle state estimation part.
