PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable optimal driving support by exactly estimating a driving state of a driver from a steering state of a steering wheel.SOLUTION: A data group relating to a steering angle of a steering wheel detected by a steering angle detecting portion 11, a pressure distribution of the steering wheel detected by a steering wheel pressure detecting portion 12, and a temperature distribution of the steering wheel detected by a steering wheel temperature detecting portion 13 are collected in time series by a data collecting portion 14, and a gripping state estimating portion 15 compares an initial data group at the start of driving with a data group during driven to estimate a gripping state of a driver such as a grip position, an area, and grip strength of the steering wheel. A contact pattern recognizing portion 16 recognizes a contact pattern on the basis of changes in the grip state, and a driving state estimating portion 17 estimates a driving state of the driver from the contact pattern. Therefore, the driving state of the driver such as abrupt steering wheel operation, steering wheel operation with little change, and slow steering wheel operation in a fatigue state can be precisely estimated, and optimal driving support including an alarm is enabled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ハンドルの操舵状態からドライバの運転状態を的確に推定して最適な運転支援を可能とする。【解決手段】操舵角検出部11で検出したハンドルの操舵角、ハンドル圧力検出部12で検出したハンドルの圧力分布、ハンドル温度検出部13で検出したハンドルの温度分布に係るデータ群をデータ収集部14で時系列的に収集し、把持状態推定部15で運転開始時の初期データ群と運転中のデータ群とを比較してハンドルの握り位置や面積、握り強さ等のドライバの把持状態を推定する。接触パターン認識部16では、把持状態の変化に基づいて接触パターンを認識し、この接触パターンから運転状態推定部17でドライバの運転状態を推定する。これにより、急激なハンドル操作や変化の少ないハンドル操作、疲労状態での緩慢なハンドル操作等のドライバの運転状態を的確に推定することができ、警報を含む最適な運転支援を可能とすることができる。【選択図】図1
