PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber satisfying good adhesiveness to a fiber, high hardness, fracture physical property and low heat generation property, normally coating a cord such as several steel cords such s a carcass layer as various fiber used as a reinforcement material for a tire for automobiles which has strong impact or large load.SOLUTION: The above mentioned problem is solved by a rubber composition for coating a fiber obtained by blending 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber containing a natural rubber of 50 to 100 pts.mass and a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber of 0 to 50 pts.mass, and 1 to 20 pts.mass of a C-based petroleum resin modified by a phenolic compound and having a weight average molecular weight Mw of 200 to 1000 and a softening point in a range of -40 to 20°C.
【課題】自動車用タイヤには強い衝撃や大きな荷重がかかるため、補強材として各種繊維が用いられている。該繊維としては、カーカス層のような複数本のスチールコードが挙げられ、これらコードは通常、ゴムにより被覆され、該ゴムには、繊維との良好な接着性、高い硬度、破断物性並びに低発熱性が求められている。【解決手段】天然ゴム50〜100質量部およびスチレン−ブタジエン共重合体ゴム0〜50質量部を含むジエン系ゴム100質量部に対し、重量平均分子量Mwが200〜1000であり、かつ軟化点が−40〜20℃の範囲にある、フェノール系化合物で変性したC9系石油樹脂を1〜20質量部配合してなる繊維被覆用ゴム組成物によって上記課題を解決した。【選択図】なし
