PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control damper for a railway vehicle capable of: stably generating a large control load even with a low expansion and contraction speed of a damper; and achieving a cost reduction and reliability enhancement by simplifying a hydraulic circuit for vibration control.SOLUTION: A vibration control damper 5 for a railway vehicle 1 comprises: a cylinder 10 which has a piston 15 provided with a check valve 16 to allow working fluid to flow from a head side chamber 13 to a rod side chamber 14; an oil tank 18 which is connected to the head side chamber through the check valve 19; a hydraulic circuit 20 capable of switching between on-load control to increase a control load of the working fluid flowing in the cylinder and unload control to reduce the control load of the working fluid to almost zero. In the hydraulic circuit, a first on/off valve 24 and a passive circuit 33 having a low pressure relief valve 31 are serially connected on a second flow channel 23 which is branched from a first flow channel 21 and connected to the oil tank 18. Thus, the control load of the working fluid can be switched between a low pressure control load and a high pressure control load during the on-load control by opening and closing the first on/off valve.

    【課題】ダンパ伸縮速度が小さい場合でも大きな制御荷重を安定して発生でき、制振用の油圧回路を簡素化してコスト低減と信頼性向上が可能な鉄道車両の制振用ダンパを提供する。【解決手段】ピストン15にチェック弁16を備え、ヘッド側室13からロッド側室14へ作動油が流れるようにしたシリンダ10と、ヘッド側室に対してチェック弁19を介して接続されたオイルタンク18と、シリンダに流れる作動油の制御荷重を大きくするオンロード制御および該作動油の制御荷重を略零にするアンロード制御の切り換えが可能な油圧回路20とを有する鉄道車両1の制振用ダンパ5である。油圧回路には、第1流路21からオイルタンク18へ分岐する第2流路23上に第1ON/OFF弁24と低圧リリーフ弁31を有するパッシブ回路33とを直列配置した。第1ON/OFF弁を開閉することにより、オンロード時における作動油の制御荷重を低圧と高圧に切り換えた。【選択図】図2
