PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a foamed foam material to be filled into a closed cross section portion while minimizing the number of required plate members.SOLUTION: In pillar outers 2A and 3A and in pillar inners 2B and 3B is disposed a reinforcement 6 demarcated in two inner and outer small closed cross section portions 11 and 12 and is disposed a pipe material 20. In the reinforcement 6 is formed in advance a communication portion 6d that communicates the two small closed cross section portions 11 and 12 with each other. In one side small closed cross section portion 11 having a larger area is fastened a plate member 40 holding a second foam material 42. One end part of a slender plate-like third foam material 43 is fixed to the plate member 40 while the another end part of the material is fastened while being extended to the another small closed cross section portion 12 through the communication portion 6d. The foam materials 42 and 43 are foamed by heating from outside so as to fill the foamed foam materials into the small closed cross section portions 11 and 12, respectively.

    【課題】プレート部材の数を必要最小限にとどめつつ、閉断面内を発泡された発泡材で確実に充填できるようにする。【解決手段】ピラーアウタ2A、3Aとピラーインナ2B、3B内に、内側と外側との2つの小閉断面11、12に画成するレインフォースメント6が配設されると共にパイプ材20が配設される。レインフォースメント6に、2つの小閉断面11と12とを連通させる連通部6dがあらかじめ形成される。大きな面積を有する一方の小閉断面11内に、第2発泡材42を保持したプレート部材40を固定しておく。一端部がプレート部材40に固定された細長板状の第3発泡材43を、連通部6dを通して他方の小閉断面12に延長させた状態でその他端部を固定しておく。外部から加熱することにより、各発泡材42、43を発泡させて、各小閉断面11、12内を発泡された発泡材によって充填する。【選択図】 図5
