PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering apparatus provided with a steer-by-wire function that gives no discomfort to a drive even with erroneous connection in a clutch mechanism.SOLUTION: An ECU includes a mode setup part for controlling a steering-turn angle so as to maintain a steering-turn angle based on a steering angle detected by a steering angle sensor 7e. When a vehicle is started, a mode setup part controls a steering ratio to maintain a steering angle ratio R that is equal to or less than a ratio of steering-turn angle (a mechanical steering-turn angle) to a steering angle when a steering wheel 2 side and a steering-turn mechanism 5 side are interconnected by a clutch mechanism 4.

    【課題】クラッチ機構が誤接続してしまっても、運転者に違和感を与えることがないステア・バイ・ワイヤ機能を備えた車両用操舵装置を提供する。【解決手段】ECUのモード設定部は、舵角センサ7eが検出した操舵角に基づいた転舵角となるように当該転舵角を制御する。そして、モード設定部は、車両が始動された際は、クラッチ機構4によりハンドル2側と転舵機構5側とが接続されているときの操舵角に対する転舵角の比(機械的舵角比)以下である舵角比Rになるように、舵角比を制御する。【選択図】図1
