PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering apparatus for enabling a driver to steer a vehicle comfortably.SOLUTION: A vehicular steering apparatus (50) includes: a vehicular steering mechanism (57) for steering wheels (24, 24); and an assist torque mechanism (59) for applying assist torque to the vehicular steering mechanism (57). The assist torque mechanism (59) transmits, to a rack shaft (85), assist torque in accordance with steering torque detected by a torque sensor (58). A pinion shaft (84) is extended from a center of a vehicular width toward front-back directions. The torque sensor (58) detects torque generated on a column shaft (52); and the assist torque mechanism (59) applies assist torque to the pinion shaft (84) or rack shaft (85).

    【課題】運転者が快適に操舵することのできる車両用操舵装置を提供すること。【解決手段】車両用操舵装置(50)は、車輪(24,24)を転舵する車両用転舵機構(57)と、この車両用転舵機構(57)に補助トルクを加える補助トルク機構(59)と、を有する。補助トルク機構(59)は、トルクセンサ(58)が検知した操舵トルクに応じて補助トルクをラック軸(85)に伝える。ピニオン軸(84)は、車幅中央において前後に向かって延びる。トルクセンサ(58)は、コラムシャフト(52)に発生するトルクを検出し、補助トルク伝達機構(59)は、ピニオン軸(84)又はラック軸(85)に補助トルクを付加する。【選択図】図1
