PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twist rudder for a ship in which an energy loss of an asymmetric flow not recovered by a propeller and a flow going through on a propeller plane is recovered as the lift generated by a rudder wing cross section, thereby obtaining the maximum transport efficiency as a whole propulsion system, and to provide a ship equipped with the twist rudder.SOLUTION: A twist rudder for a ship is the rudder mounted in a stern part 2 at the rear of a propeller 3 of the ship. A rotating shaft 11 for rotating the rudder is positioned in a virtual vertical plane V passing a propeller shaft 3x. A cross-sectional shape of the rudder is made a wing type. A twist angle θ to the virtual vertical plane V of the wing type continuously changes in the height direction of the rudder in any of the left and right in the virtual vertical plane V so as to respond to an asymmetric flow at the stern part 2.
