A worm biasing structure biasing a worm 130 towards a worm wheel 120, for example for use in an electric power steering system in a vehicle, includes a radial bearing 10, which can be accommodated in a hole in a bearing holder 30, for radially supporting worm 130 and a biasing member 60 for biasing bearing 10 toward worm wheel 120. Baring holder 30 can be accommodated in a hole 112, having a pair of guide surfaces 34, in housing 111. When bearing holder 30 is in hole 112 and radial bearing 10 is not in bearing holder 30, a distance between guide surfaces 33 is smaller than or equal to an outer diameter of radial bearing 10. Gaps (S, Figure 3A) are formed between hole 112 and outer surfaces (35, Figure 3A) of guide surfaces 34; in one embodiment an outer side of guide surface 34 is thinned, while in another hole 112 is recessed radially outwardly.
