A power assistance steering wheel worm biasing structure 1 features a low resistance portion 50 and high a high resistance portion 61. After the low resistance portion 50 has been compressed, the high resistance portion 61 may subsequently be compressed, if an additional external force is applied. In this manner, once the natural limit of steering has been reached, if an additional sharp force is applied to the arrangement, separation of the worm from the worm wheel (120, fig.1) may be prevented, and any associated knocking sounds.
