The invention relates to an active lift propulsion device (200) comprising a ring aerofoil (210) and a propulsion assembly with propellers (220) provided inside the ring aerofoil (210), the propulsion assembly (220) comprising a plurality of propellers (223, 224), the propellers being aligned according to a reference plane perpendicular to a longitudinal axis (XC210) of the ring aerofoil. One portion of the propellers is driven in a first direction of rotation while the other portion of the propellers is driven in a second direction of rotation opposite the first direction of rotation. The ring aerofoil (210) has, in cross-section, an oval shape extending around the longitudinal axis (XC210). The ring aerofoil includes an upper portion (2101) extending downstream from the reference plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and a lower portion (2100) extending upstream from said reference plane. The two propellers (223, 224) extend near the trailing edge (212) of the ring aerofoil at the lower portion (2100) of the ring aerofoil (210), and near the leading edge (211) of the ring aerofoil at the upper portion (2101) of said ring aerofoil.
