An electric vehicle (10) includes a battery pack, an electric motor (103), an inverter (106) connected to the electric motor (103), a power distribution unit connected to the battery pack and the inverter (106), and at least one electric vehicle emergency stop switch (EV-ES1, EV-ES2, EV-ES3, EV-ES4) configured to disconnect the battery pack from the power distribution unit when the at least one electric vehicle emergency stop switch (EV-ES1, EVES2, EV-ES3, EV-ES4) is activated. The first electric vehicle emergency stop switch (EV-ES1) is located at a front surface of the electric vehicle (10).
