The invention relates to a method for regulating a volumetric flow rate (1) in a cooling circuit (2), the cooling circuit (2) having at least one first pump (3) for conveying a coolant (4) and at least one component (5) acted on by the coolant (4). The method comprises at least the following steps: a) operating the first pump (3) and conveying the coolant (4) through the cooling circuit (2); b) measuring the pressure difference (6) of the coolant (4) acting on the component (5); c) determining a volumetric flow rate (1) associated with the differential pressure (6) to be measured on the basisof a characteristic curve (8) stored in the control device (7), and d) adjusting the first pump (3) by the control device (7) on the basis of the volumetric flow rate (1) determined by the measured differential pressure (6).
