The present invention is directed to a cab over engine truck having a frame (1) and a cabin mounted on the frame, said cabin having an A pillar and a B pillar in longitudinal direction of the cabin behind the A pillar, said cabin having a cabin strength defined as the force level above which a force acting on the A pillar in the direction of the B pillar causes the A pillar to move closer to the B pillar by permanent cabin deformation, said cabin being mounted to the frame by a connecting structure having a first connector device (60) which is arranged such that, when the cabin impacts on an obstacle in case of a frontal collision, a break occurs in the first connector device when a threshold force between the cabin and the frame is exceeded in a first phase of the collision, and is further arranged such that after the break the first connector device allows for backward movement of the cabin relative to the frame with a low force transfer between cabin and frame below the threshold force for a predetermined backward movement distance of the B pillar relative to the frame in a second phase of the collision.
