In a manipulation for moving a moving body, the manipulation can be carried out while watching the movement of the moving body, without needing to watch one's hands, so even a novice operator can perform the manipulation easily, safely, reliably, and quickly. The apparatus includes a signal transmission cable 8, a casing 10 of a manipulation remote controller 9 disposed at one end of the cable 8, a rotary encoder 19 that produces a signal corresponding to the direction of the casing 10, and a motor drive control circuit 18 that is disposed on the other side of the cable 8 and controls the movement of a moving body 7 on the basis of a signal corresponding to the direction of the casing 10. The signal corresponding to the direction of the casing 10 is supplied from the rotary encoder 19, through the cable 8, to the motor drive control circuit 18. Therefore, the operator can hold down a manipulation switch 11 without looking at his hands and thereby adjust the direction of the casing 10 of the manipulation remote controller 9 while looking at the movement direction of a load moving as the moving body while hung on a hook 7, allowing the load to be moved in the desired direction.
