The invention provides a traffic light passing calculation method and system based on the Internet of Things. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a real-time data stream from an Internet of Things intelligent sensor network, and carrying out space-time consistency processing through a high-precision space-time synchronization technology to generate a traffic condition dynamic panorama; a causal inference algorithm is used for inferring a causal relationship, direct and indirect influence paths are calculated, a space-time sequence modeling technology is used for capturing space-time characteristics, a time-varying rule is simulated, and a future traffic state estimation model is generated; an evolutionary strategy optimization algorithm is used to simulate a natural evolutionary process, an optimal traffic light switching strategy is searched, a multi-objective optimization technology is used to consider a mutual exclusion objective, constraint conditions are introduced to carry out comprehensive evaluation, and a traffic light switching strategy evaluation result is generated; a feedback circulation mechanism is introduced, a model operation result is collected in real time, an adaptability improvement report is automatically formed, and a traffic light passing calculation scheme is generated. According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, the traffic light passing calculation efficiency is remarkably improved.
