The invention relates to the technical field of shield segments, and discloses an automatic hoisting method for a large-diameter shield segment, which comprises the following steps: moving a turnover mechanism to one side of a transport vehicle and clamping the turnover mechanism with the transport vehicle; the overturning plate in the horizontal posture extends into a gap between the outer cambered surface of the shield segment and the carrying plate, and extends into a hole in the outer cambered surface through a second hydraulic telescopic rod, so that limiting connection between the overturning plate and the shield segment is formed; the crank driving mechanism drives the crank to rotate so as to drive the overturning plate and the shield segment to rotate to a vertical posture; after the shield segment is received through the support, connection between the shield segment and the turnover mechanism is removed; and finally, the shield segment is hoisted through the hoisting mechanism. The device has the advantages that the automation degree and the working efficiency in the whole overturning process are high; and the hoisting mechanism can realize quick connection and hoisting through holes in the outer cambered surface and the top end surface of the shield segment.
