A method of detecting a pressure loss event in an evaluated vehicle tire, the method comprising: obtaining real-time tire pressure data from a plurality of tire mounted sensors (TMSs), each mounted in one of a plurality of tires on the same vehicle, the tires including an evaluated tire; calculating a rate of pressure change over a fixed length of time window for each of the plurality of tires on the vehicle; comparing the rate of change in pressure of the evaluated tire to one or more of the rates of change in pressure of other tires of the plurality of tires on the vehicle; it is determined from the comparison whether the evaluated tire has an abnormal rate of pressure change indicative of a pressure loss event in the tire.
