Determining longitudinal collision time and transverse collision time of the vehicle and the pedestrian; and whether the vehicle collides with the pedestrian or not is determined based on the transverse collision time and the longitudinal collision time, and if the vehicle collides with the pedestrian, braking processing is executed. By adopting the method, whether the collision with the pedestrian can occur can be efficiently and accurately judged, so that emergency braking can be adopted.
