The invention discloses a traction control method for an electric vehicle. The method comprises the steps that the whole vehicle acceleration of the electric vehicle and the driving wheel acceleration of the electric vehicle are obtained; determining whether the electric vehicle is in a slipping state or not at least partially based on the difference value between the whole vehicle acceleration and the driving wheel acceleration; when it is determined that the electric vehicle is in the slipping state, the motor input torque of the electric vehicle is adjusted at least partially based on the difference value of the whole vehicle acceleration and the driving wheel acceleration.
