The present application relates to contactor device identification, in particular a computer system comprising processing circuitry configured to: provide a control signal (70) to a contactor device control circuit (32) comprising a contactor (34), the contactor device control circuit (32) configured to perform a state switching (72) in response to receiving the control signal (70); receiving a control signal response (74) from a contactor device control circuit (32) in response to the state switching (72); obtaining one or more contactor device properties (76) based on the control signal response (74) to the control signal (70); comparing the one or more contactor device attributes (76) to a baseline contactor device attribute (80), the baseline contactor device attribute (80) indicating one or more predefined contactor device types; and identifying, based on the comparison, whether the type of the contactor (34) corresponds to the one or more predefined contactor device types.
