According to the embodiment of the invention, when the vehicle is in the self-adaptive cruise working condition, the weather severity level can be determined according to the weather category and/or the current visibility, and the following time interval of the vehicle is corrected by using the following time interval corresponding to the weather severity level, so that the applicability and reliability of the following time interval control are improved.
