The method comprises the following steps: extracting target scene data from an original public data set; constructing an exposure quantification Transformer model, predicting the driving intentions of surrounding vehicles through the model, and further calculating the exposure E of the driving risk of the main vehicle; calculating the severity S of the driving risk of the main vehicle considering the vehicle type; calculating the controllability C of the driving risk between the main vehicle and any surrounding vehicle based on the acceleration change amplitude of the main vehicle; multiplying the calculated driving risk exposure degree E, the controllability degree C and the severity degree S to obtain a risk assessment result R between the two vehicles; and taking the maximum value of the risk assessment result R between the main vehicle and all surrounding vehicles as the driving risk assessment result of the main vehicle. According to the method, the driving risk influence factors of the traffic vehicle are decoupled and are respectively and quantitatively analyzed, the three indexes of risk assessment are respectively quantified, and the total driving risk value is finally obtained.
