The invention provides a risk assessment method and device for traffic safety common sense violation of an automatic driving vehicle, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining driving data used for representing the motion state of a target vehicle, including the speed of the target vehicle, the acceleration of the target vehicle, the number of changed lanes, the frequency of changing lanes, the time length of changing lanes, the transverse offset, and the motion time; based on the driving data, performing quantitative processing on the driving behavior violating the traffic safety common sense to obtain a risk index of the driving behavior; the driving behaviors comprise a sudden acceleration and deceleration behavior, a frequent lane changing behavior, a bad car following behavior, a snake-shaped driving behavior and an improper deceleration behavior; processing the risk indexes based on a subjective and objective weight distribution method to obtain a comprehensive risk assessment value of the driving behavior; and calculating the comprehensive risk assessment value based on a clustering analysis method to obtain the risk level of the driving behavior. According to the scheme, the risk on the road can be comprehensively understood, and proper measures are taken to guarantee the life and property safety of the target vehicle and the traffic participants.
