The method comprises the steps that whole vehicle structure data and oil cylinder structure parameters of the forklift, pressure data of an oil cylinder under the current operation posture and working state data of a suspension arm are received; on the basis of the whole vehicle structure data and the working state data of the suspension arm, the amplitude and the height of the suspension arm under the current operation posture are calculated, and the maximum load capacity under the current operation posture is determined by combining the amplitude and the height of the suspension arm and the forklift load curve graph; based on the whole vehicle structure data, the oil cylinder structure parameters, the pressure data of the oil cylinder under the current operation posture and the working state data of the suspension arm, the current load capacity is calculated, and the load percentage is obtained according to the maximum load capacity and the current load capacity; when the load percentage exceeds a preset alarm value, an alarm signal is sent out, a control signal for increasing the angle of the suspension arm or reducing the length of the suspension arm is generated, and the suspension arm of the forklift is limited to move towards the dangerous direction; the anti-tipping device can effectively prevent the telescopic boom forklift from tipping over.
