The compensation method comprises the following steps: acquiring cylinder total pressure of the engine of the hybrid vehicle under different working conditions and working condition data corresponding to the cylinder total pressure, and constructing a torque pulsation table of the engine according to the cylinder total pressure and the working condition data; and according to the current working condition of the engine in the running process of the hybrid vehicle and the torque pulsation table, the compensation torque of the current working condition is determined, and a generator of the hybrid vehicle is controlled to implement switching operation of a power generation mode and a power assisting mode according to the compensation torque. According to the torque compensation method, the total pressure of the air cylinder is associated with the pulsation torque of the high-frequency change of the engine, the change characteristics of the pulsation torque under different working conditions are accurately represented, the torque pulsation table is constructed, torque compensation is specifically implemented in the driving process of the hybrid power vehicle, and then the smoothness of power output of the hybrid power vehicle is improved.
